Deka Furniture provides custom furniture design, development and manufacture services for both residential and commercial projects. Our clients include private clients as well as interior designers, decorators and architects. In addition to custom work, we also have a standard collection of 'deka' furniture. All of our furniture, both custom and standard, are designed in-house and wholly manufactured in our Brisbane factory by our highly skilled craftspeople.

The Deka Design Team includes:
Lasse Kinnunen - Born 1949 in Finland to furniture making parents. Craftsman of traditional methods of furniture manufacture. Has spent his working life self employed in furniture design and manufacture, in Finland and Australia. Was awarded Arts Queensland Smart State Designer of the Year 2006. Has distinct Finnish sensibility. Loves his craft.

Helena Kinnunen - Born Northern Finland 1950. Joined the furniture tradition of the Kinnunen family in 1970. Has innate understanding of how to dress a sofa. Has fingernails of steel.  Loves her sewing machine. Is inspired by music.

Nora Kinnunen - Born 1972 In Helsinki to Helena and Lasse. Achieved academic distinction and valuable experience as an aeronautical engineer. Traded helicopters for chairs when joined family company in 2000. Appreciates her Finnish roots.
